Session 1 (4pm): Preparing for IA2 Student Experiment presented by Amanda Rockcliff

Are you tackling the IA2 Student Experiment for the first time? Or wanting to improve on how you approached it last year? This workshop is designed to give you practical tips and strategies to help you refine your practice and stay sane throughout the process! Amanda will share her learnings from the last 4 years and resources she has created or gathered from the amazing Psych community.

Amanda began her teaching career in Tasmania as a Drama and English teacher in 1994. Since then, she has taught a wide variety of subjects across 2 states- including Senior English, Humanities, Ancient History and Psychology. Amanda was part of the initial group of teachers who implemented the Psychology subject in QLD.  She has also been involved as an Endorser, Confirmer, and External Exam Writer and Marker for QCAA and a content creator for the Psychology EDROLO online learning platform. Amanda lives on the Sunshine Coast and currently teaches at Suncoast Christian College.  She loves being involved in the collaborative Psych community and seeing new teachers grow in their skills and confidence.

Session 2 (5pm):  Unpacking the 2022 QCAA Subject Report presented by Natasha Johnson

Join us for an in-depth exploration of the 2022 subject report. Natasha will guide you through the findings and analysis, helping you to gain a deeper understanding of the key trends and insights. Whether you’re an educator, or simply interested in staying up-to-date on the latest developments, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to unpack the 2022 QCAA subject report and enhance your knowledge and help prepare your students for success.

Natasha trained as a Learning Support and Music teacher and has spent 15 years working as a disability case manager and learning support teacher within schools. As a result of enjoying many Psychology subjects at university, Natasha enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to establish Psychology at St Luke’s Anglican School in 2019. She benefitted from being a part of the initial group of Queensland Psychology teachers with Amanda, and enjoys sharing her passion for the subject with others. Natasha is an AITSL accredited Highly Accomplished Teacher, QCAA Confirmer and External Assessment Marker.
